HyperCharging™ from Voltempo is the next-generation electric vehicle Megawatt Charging System (MCS). Designed around the needs of HGV electric trucks and other fleets, HyperCharging™ is a scalable and modular ultra-rapid charging hub that is capable of megawatt charging and above, and servicing multiple electric commercial vehicles and HGVs simultaneously.
Most other chargers are based on a one charger/one bay solution. As you add more chargers, the cost increases exponentially as the infrastructure and groundworks costs increase. Every charger requires its own groundworks and infrastructure, leading to long and disruptive on-site build times measured in weeks or months. Once it’s installed, the charger cannot easily be modified or upgraded to cater for future, faster-charging vehicles, or new charging standards such as wireless charging. Obsolescence is built in.
HyperCharging™ is based on a modular central charger concept. Based around a megawatt power core and above, up to twenty-four vehicles can share the power from one charger. The entire system is built in a factory and delivered complete to the site, requiring minimal onsite commissioning. Future upgrades involve plugging in new power modules, adding charging bays, or incorporating new charging technologies such as wireless charging or new charging connectors as new standards emerge.
Most HGV chargers today are limited to 350kW or less. HyperCharging™ is different. It’s a dynamic EV charger that can share power across a whole fleet of vehicles. You can prioritise urgent routes, providing up to 1MW megawatt charging to a single electric HGV, or share the power across a larger number of vehicles. And whilst today’s electric trucks cannot yet charge at the full megawatt levels, electric tomorrow’s trucks will. Which means investing into a Voltempo HyperCharging™ hub does not just make sense for today, it’s future-proofing your business for tomorrow as well.
Installing conventional EV charging stations is time consuming, involving underground cabling, new groundworks and fixed in place infrastructure. Voltempo is different.
