The Voltempo HyperCharger MCS delivers ultra-fast, megawatt-level charging for HGV fleets—scalable, modular, and built to keep electric trucks running with maximum uptime, logistics efficiency, and simultaneous multi-vehicle charging.
Instead of separate standalone chargepoints servicing one or two vehicles at a time, the Voltempo HyperCharger has one central charging unit connected to multiple chargepoints, with the central unit dynamically sharing the power between vehicles for faster charging and higher efficiency.
Our unique dynamic charging system reallocates power as required to ensure every vehicle gets the right amount. So, if you need ultra-fast charging of a single vehicle at 1MW, the system can do that, or you want multiple vehicles charging at a slower speed, perhaps overnight…it can do that too.
A charging system that’s fit for tomorrow but delivers today. HGV technology is rapidly evolving, with bigger batteries, faster charging speeds and MCS capability just around the corner. Our system is designed for these changes, so you have a charging system that will meet the needs of future HGVs and fleet operations, saving substantial future infrastructure investment costs.
Our system is more than just powerful—it’s intelligent. The HyperCharger MCS includes:
Voltempo V960, a dedicated solution for heavy-duty electric vehicles that requires power levels of up to 960kW.
Our V960 solution has a central unit (or Pod), couple to a single MCS chargepoint and up to 5 additional CCS (Combined Charging System) chargepoints. This allows our system to be MCS-ready as new HGV technology comes through, whilst allowing CCS charging for current vehicles.
Our current MCS solution can provide full power to a single MCS charging bay or it can be spread across the charging bays as needed, with the 5 CCS chargepoints able to supply maximum output of 500kW each. Up to 6 chargepoints can operate in parallel, dynamically allocating power to maximize efficiency and save on energy costs. Our MCS chargepoint is an independently tested and reliable solution which can provide a maximum continuous current of 1,000A.
Our HyperCharger solution allows you to adapt to the needs of the current market thanks to the possibility to integrate an MCS Pod with CCS chargepoints on the same charging system.
There’s now no need to worry about what standalone charger rating to choose as the Voltempo HyperCharger will automatically set the right charger rate for the vehicles and be MCS-ready for the future.
The Voltempo Pod is a centralised, futureproofed, power unit which has been built as a modular solution to deliver up to 960 kW of total charging power in 80 kW granularity. Connect 1-6 chargepoints to the Pod depending on your site and fleet needs.
The Pod is MCS-ready, allowing one of the connected chargepoints to take the full 960kW for ultra-rapid charging. The Pod avoids the need to choose separate standalone chargers and ensure a dynamic approach to charging a fleet of vehicles, from fast or slow as fleet operations require.
It can be installed indoors or outdoors, enduring various environmental conditions, from heavy rain to dust.
Our dynamic power management software optimises the distribution and allocation of electrical power in real time, dynamically adjusting the electricity flow to balance supply and demand. This dynamic power management technique can significantly reduce energy waste and even extend battery life in your trucks.
Our chargers can also be operated via OCPP load management software if you would like to take full control of the energy management for each vehicle within your fleet. This cloud-based charging and energy management software will give you full control over where and when energy is distributed. As a fleet operator, you will have the option to schedule your charging based on tariff signals or grid statuses as well as apply constraints per user, charger, or site.
Our unique software will flexibly adapt to the number of chargepoints available and the vehicles charging capacity to ensure your fleet is ready to go. The amount of energy provided will be distributed based on the first vehicle that is plugged in and then distributes the charging power optimally. If there is no other station in operation and the available power is sufficient, our HyperCharger allows the charge point to charge at the full MCS power.
